COAST CULTURAL ALLIANCE TEAMS UP WITH REALTOR®
TO CREATE INTERACTIVE MAPS FOR 2012
SUNSHINE COAST ART CRAWL

SECHELT, BRITISH COLUMBIA — September 29, 2012 — The Coast Cultural Alliance, a non-profit arts, culture & heritage society serving the Sunshine Coast region of BC, announced today the immediate availability on the internet of two interactive maps for its second annual Art Crawl on the weekend of October 19-20-21. For the third consecutive year, the maps have been contributed by Sechelt real estate agent Gary Little, an expert in the creation of maps such as these.

The maps show the locations of 110 studios and galleries participating in the Art Crawl. More information about any studio or gallery can be obtained simply by clicking its marker on the maps. The Crawl spans the entire Sunshine Coast with participants in Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay, Madeira Park, Garden Bay, Earls Cove, Powell River, and Lund.

Two versions of the map are available. The first — for desktop or laptop computers — can be viewed at www.sunshinecoastartcrawl.com or crawl.GaryLittle.ca. The second map — specifically designed for smartphone or tablet users (iPhone, iPad, Android phones, BlackBerry 6 OS phones) — can be viewed at icrawl.GaryLittle.ca using the device's web browser. The smartphone version also includes a button for automatically centering the map around the user's current geographic location as determined from cellular network positioning data making it very easy to locate quickly nearby studios.

"The Art Crawl will attract hundreds of visitors to the Sunshine Coast and will also be a very popular event for local residents. The quality and breadth of the artistic talent here is just amazing," said Linda Williams, President of Coast Cultural Alliance. "We're excited about these maps because they will make it very convenient for people to plan their weekend and to find the types of art that interest them most. They are a perfect complement to the full-colour printed brochure and map we're also making available to crawlers."

"These interactive maps make it very easy to locate, and learn more about, the dozens of artists participating in this year's crawl," said Gary Little of Royal LePage Sunshine Coast. "And with the smartphone version, people can also track down studios while they're on the road anywhere on the Sunshine Coast between Langdale and Lund. I'm pleased to support such an interesting and important cultural event."

More information on the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl is available at www.sunshinecoastartcrawl.com.
