Halfmoon Bay Special EventsCountry Fair. The Halfmoon Bay Country Fair has been held over a weekend in July since 1967. It features bingo, fun events for the kids, food stands, craft booths, and a beer garden. It takes place near the water at picturesque Coopers Green Park.Sleepy Hollow Rod Run. Every year since 1996, the Coasters Car Club has held a classic car rally on an August weekend in Sechelt, one of the largest of its kind in British Columbia. The event is called the Sunshine Coast Festival of the Rolling Arts. On the Friday of the event, approximately 400 vintage, specialty, and collector vehicles strut their stuff on a route that takes them from downtown Sechelt, along the Sunshine Coast Highway, then up Redrooffs Road to the Halfmoon Bay fire station and back. Pull up a chair alongside Redrooffs and enjoy this unique display of automotive excess. Community Dinners. The Welcome Beach Community Association has monthly group dinners throughout the year at the Welcome Beach Community Hall at 8394 Redrooffs Road. There's a different gastronomic theme each month, so the food is varied and always delicious. Come to the dinners to make new friends and meet your neighbours. The Association also organizes seasonal bocce and shuffleboard activities. See www.welcomebeach.org
